“Zankyou No Terror” is a much watch series. If I were to compare it to another series, I would say that the storyline somewhat resembles that of “Money Heist,” while the character’s have a somewhat “Deathnote” vibe. The main characters are anti-heroes whose actions are left to be judged by the viewers. However, the viewer is left wondering about the governments actions and it can be said that there are some political connotations in the story. The story is simple yet elegant, keeping up suspense that intrigues the viewer. The animation and voice acting is also pretty solid, while the soundtrack is amongst my favorites. On the downside, the series felt a bit rushed in the last 3-4 episodes and the few instances of English voice acting (not to be confused with the English dub which I haven’t seen) was terrible. All in all, “Zankyou no Terror” is brilliant and a must watch for everyone, including non-anime fans.
Few episodes, a well written story and a tense plot. I kept waiting each week for a new episode. Every now and then there comes an anime which literally changes your thoughts about anime (and by that i mean Japanese anime only). Your are surprised by the potential this medium has for story telling. Two terrorists, a girl who gets involved with them and a detective on the chase. Sounds simple but the execution of the story and the ending will just amaze you. Only 11 episodes which can be binge watched. Give it a try.I am waiting for new shows from this writer and the production team. Zankyou no Terror is one of my favourite animes.
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls creates a claustrophobic setting where every movement or dialogue feels like it is disturbing an equilibrium. Throughout the story, the characters must confront their past mistakes and confront the malevolent entities haunting the school. This four-episode OVA, inspired by a game, offers a quick yet chilling viewing experience, perfect for a horror anime marathon alongside other bite-sized terror series and manga that promise intense scares. Currently unavailable to stream.
If there is something Japanese people always get right, it is horror. It could be in their movies, shows, or anime, but it is always bone-chilling, and it will always deeply change you. In my opinion, they get the fear and the shrieks the best when working on their anime. The distinct modifications in the characters’ faces when in grief or terror are amazing works of art and generally translate well onto viewers, letting us feel what they feel and making us want not to be able to.
The humans in this anime lived in closed spaces behind walls in fear of titans, beings that eat them out of pure whim. We follow Eren Jaeger, a boy living with his family and fan-favorite sister Mikasa as the titans come to destrdoy their home and make them flee in terror. There are moments of action and even at times a small laugh will come in, but there is only depression and fear in the eyes of the characters, and soon enough the viewers too.
