Comic big boobs

Of course, we already know the actual reason for this: it’s because superhero comics , mainly written and drawn for horny young males for horny young males to gawk at. That’s why you get Emma Frost’s barely-there costume, skin-tight spandex and all the other costumes designed to show off the frankly impossible proportions every female comic book character boasts, which seems almost totally based on the girl of Sir Mix-A-Lot: big butt, itty-bitty-waist, huge boobs. What’s the in-universe explanation for this, though? Has nobody ever wondered, in the fictional Marvel or DC universes, why all these women superheroes are model-gorgeous, perfect specimens?

[I’m] afraid that the whole idea of a “training bra” is just to cash in on the insecurities and confusing expectations of adolescent girls. I really wanted the comic to reflect that fascination and then disenchantment. It was so confusing to grow up expecting big breasts to me beautiful and then to be made fun of and shamed for them as soon as they started developing. I hope that other women can relate to the comic, because no matter what bust size they are, boobs are serious baggage!

Breast size on female comic characters tends to vary depending on the artist. The only time I really like them big is when other parts of the women are extenuated overdramatically as well, like Rob Guillory’s women in Chew. They have very tiny waists and very large hips and boobs. I am less of a fan of the “extra large for no reason” chest types like Power Girl, Black Cat or Cat Woman. One artist who is famous for his “boobs” is Adam Hughes, and for as large as they are he is very good at drawing them. He must have a lot of experience with breasts 😉
