"I think back to my younger self and I think, if I was allowed in that comic book store, and I got to see a version that I felt like I could relate to on some level, I would have been absolutely in," she adds. "It's a very personal experience that everyone has with comics. These are characters that people are passionate about, and care about deeply, and relate to. Several of these women have fought off Super Villain hordes, extraterrestrials, or have combated the fear and hatred of humanity itself. But all of that pales in comparison to their most challenging Super Hero job—being a mom!

Cartoonist Chelsea Carr didn’t always use her personal life as inspiration for her illustrations, but becoming a mom puts a whole new filter on life, and before she knew it, her comics evolved into cathartic yet hilarious riffs on the “joys” of pregnancy and parenthood.

Although fellow in-the-trenches parents are sure to relate, Carr told POPSUGAR that her goal in creating these comics is actually to give her toddler son an archive that he can enjoy when he’s older. Until then, she picked out 17 of her favorite strips for us to enjoy right now.

Does kind of make a fella wonder. Between the piles of geek collectibles and the huge array of comics, maybe James’ family is secretly loaded. That might make Momma James concerned about gold-diggers. Plus it’s a nice callback to the long long ago where Rosemary told Ellie to find a rich boyfriend. Or a roommate, whichever.

From the looks of it i would think his mom probably the reason he’s still single, since she scares away any girl that comes near him(assuming they can pass his Nerd Barrier first..)

Being a mom is tough but we wouldn’t know the nitty gritties of motherhood until we go through it ourselves. While that is a tad difficult we surely can learn from other people’s experiences. A freelance illustrator Natalia Sabransky, from Argentina, has created some funny comics on parenting and the everyday problems of motherhood. Natalia entered the phase of motherhood two and a half years ago, and since then she’s tried to put down her experiences in an illustrative format describing the adventures in mommy land.
