A warlike extraterrestrial empire, the forces of Vega, enslaved and ravaged the distant, but peaceful, Euphor's advanced planet. The prince of Euphor, however, Actarus was able to escape the massacre by robbing them of the combat robot Goldorak, who can travel through space in his carrying saucer. Actarus, a refugee on Earth, is being treated and adopted by a humanist scientist, Professor Procyon, director of a space research center and Goldorak, hidden in an underground base beneath the center. Human-like, unlike the hideous humanoids of Vega, Actarus pretends to be an Earthman and works as a stable boy at the neighboring White Birch Ranch, owned by the irascible old man Rigel. Top 30 meters and weighing 280 tons, Goldorak is a humanoid and horned robot. Goldorak is a machine devoid of personality and piloted like a vehicle from a cockpit located in his head. However, he seems to have a special connection with Actarus, who sometimes gives him encouragement, and crystallizes the hatred of his opponents as much as his pilot. Goldorak moves with a flying flying saucer in which he fits in the open air and closes on him. When he stops or breaks off the saucer or uses his weapons, Actarus while operating his commands, shouts the name of the maneuver, like the Japanese wrestlers.
