Since this is my first official post, I thought I would let you guys get to know me a bit more by telling you my favorite animes! Now, I like a wide variety of anime, meaning I really don’t have a preference to what I’m watching, I just like it to be good. Also, the reason one of the “Big 5 of Anime” (DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, or One Piece) is that I really don’t like watching long series like those, and they’re too mainstream for my taste. If my classmate who knows nothing about anime starts talking about Naruto, my interest in the series begins to wane.

This is one of the series that I’m sad didn’t place higher on the list. Angel Beats is one of those animes that holds a special place in my heart. It was the first anime that made me cry, and it was the first shorter anime I saw. I had been so busy with DB, Naruto, and Bleach, that when my brother showed me the first episode, I was disappointed that it was only 13 episodes long. It got my interest in episode 1, and hooked me by episode 2.

Accel World, to me, is one of those animes that does everything right. It has relatable and lovable characters, especially the main character, which is one of the most relatable characters in my current position. And dear god, the villains they choose for this anime are people you want to tear to shreds. They’re so diabolically evil and hatable, they literally turn into an all encompassing totem of hate for you. It’s a nice break, not trying to have a sympathetic villain and instead of a sociopath that is trying to make the main character’s life miserable.
