One of the best parts of watching anime is how many times a show can surprise you. Sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. But if the Otaku know one thing, it’s that anything is possible.
The approach of Ahiru no Sora Season 2 reveals release date, cast, and some plotline predictions. The anime holds much drama between directors, fans, and the original manga creator, Takeshi Hinata. In addition, the anime contrasts the manga creator’s wishes. However, as the manga enters another hiatus, the anime quickly surpasses the manga in production.
By far the anime is not finished. With a first season release back in 2019, the second season’s approach in 2021 shows a quickly developing series for its audience. The studio Diomedea takes a leap on this genre as the studio’s first sports anime. Similarly, the majority of Diomedea’s products focus on light-hearted topics and female protagonists. Ahiru no Sora is a difficult outlier by contrast.
Ahiru no Sora Season 2 releases sometime in 2021 on Netflix and other streaming sites. Director Shingo Tamaki and chief director Keizou Kusakawa, who also directed Happy Sugar Life, will direct Ahiru no Sora season 2. Art directer Yoshino Honda leads in character design while Gou Zappa and composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi handle composition and music.
However, critique leaves this anime with problems in its second season. While fans may be happy, those involved with the source material are not.
Takeshi Hinata gave negative criticism of the anime in its first season. Hinata gave permission for production hesitantly, at best. Additionally, he described the anime as a “weird work.” Hinata further despised the anime when a boy he knew was denied an audition opportunity in the anime’s production. A tweet he made in November of 2019 reflected his feelings.
Hinata’s feelings about the anime soured even more in 2019 when he responded to a tweet about an episode with “It’s the worst.” Even though he deleted the tweet soon after, the fans and production members now know his feelings. These feelings will endure in Ahiru no Sora Season 2.
The manga Ahiru no Sora reached the top of the best selling list in Japan with a total of 24 million copies. It set a record by the 50th volume. Within the first week of sales the manga hit 6th place in the best seller rating. The manga held this place for 3 consecutive weeks.
While fans believe Ahiru No Sora Season 2 will release in 2021, there is no official statement as of today.
