The story is still taking things pretty slow, but the series has been good at keeping itself busy in spite of that. If there’s one aspect that’s starting to drag, it’s the redundant flashbacks to Tama and Ace’s friendship, but even that stuff gets packed up before you know it and we’re barreling into the next set-piece, which is Luffy’s long-awaited reunion with Zoro and their subsequent fight with Basil Hawkins of the Worst Generation. I really appreciate how Luffy and Zoro’s bromance is given more room to breath in the anime, as in the manga it was incredibly brief and took up so little page space that it didn’t leave much of an impact. We’ve spent so long with the crew split-up between different islands that it feels great to see them interacting again, even if the rest of the Straw Hats are still MIA at the moment. The immediate smiling and hugging between these meatheads is infectious.

Wano Country arc finally came back after two filler episodes to promote the release of the movie “One Piece: Stampede.” One Piece fans have waited for this arc to come to the anime for a long time. But I believe it deserves this wait, the first few episodes of its adaptation definitely did not disappoint as fans continue to rave about just how great the anime has looked lately.

The continuation of the main story arc begins in “One Piece” episode 897. The episode is titled “Save O-Tama! The straw hats travelling through the wasteland”. While traveling across a wasteland with Otama, Luffy finally saw Zoro again. However, Hawkins, one of the enemy’s Headliners, will stand in their way. We will see the fight between Zoro and Basil Hawkins in episode 897 of One Piece, even though this episode might not have enough time to cover the entire confrontation. One Piece episode 897 will be released on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

One Piece episode 898: “Headliner! The magician Basil Hawkins enters the scene!”

It should be noted that these titles are still in flux, and will potentially change for the official translated releases. Episode 898 still focus on the battle between Zoro and Basil Hawkins, but they do tease that the fight between Zoro, Luffy, and fellow Worst Generation member Hawkins might be lasting longer than expected. One Piece episode 898 is set to air on August 18, 2019.

Wano Country arc is special for many reasons, and one of those is the mini tribute to Portgas D. Ace. “One Piece” episode 897 might offer more flashback scenes with the late pirate as the anime series returns from a two-part filler.

The latest episodes of the Wano Country arc did not disappoint fans in terms of how the manga stories were adapted to anime as well as Toei’s overall work on the animations. In terms of the story, it has followed events that took place from the source materials that focused on Luffy’s meeting with Tama. The two become closer friends in “One Piece” episode 897 as the young girl grieves the death of Ace.
