“South Park” has kept its place as cable’s top primetime comedy every year for nearly a decade. So far, fans have watched over 2.2 billion episodes between traditional broadcasts and streaming services. The Emmy-winning animated series debuted on August 13, 1997. The show was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who are also executive produced the holiday special along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman are producers, and Christopher Brion is the creative director for South Park Digital Studios.

Next year marks the 25th anniversary of “South Park” but audiences can expect to see new episodes until at least 2027 due to MTV Entertainment Studios’ expansive deal with Parker and Stone.
