Well I've only just now seen this so I suppose I have some catching up to do. Right in the middle of watching Dragon Ball but I suppose I'll start to watch Z as well. Should I make posts about the episodes I watch from the past weeks or just wait to catch up?

I've rewatched the Saiyan Saga so many times, I truly think that it is peak Dragon Ball. The storytelling, the art, everything about it works for me. Goku's return in episode 28 is magnificent, it feels much more exciting (to me at least) than his return in every other arc. This is the point in the series where Goku becomes a plot device to wait for, but I think it totally works. Goky vs. Nappa in episode 28 is incredible. Episode 30 is a god damn triumph for this series. I think the first fight between Goku and Vegeta might be my favorite fight in the entire series. I'm so glad that we have finally reached this point in the story. As a side note this is the first time that I've watched the entire original run of DBZ in Japanese and I'm having a blast with it.
