Jujutsu kaisen ep 1 sub

Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 20 release date and time of air finally announced. The English Sub Preview and spoilers also shared here.

Itadori Yuji is a high school student with exceptional physical abilities. On the night his grandfather dies he meets Fushiguro Megumi from Jujutsu High. Fushiguro had come there to retrieve the cursed object that Itadori had picked up, but it was currently in the possession of Itadori's upperclassmen who were trying to remove its seal. The upperclassmen are then attacked by monsters drawn there by the cursed object as Itadori and Fushiguro race to their rescue.

Anime-Planet users recommend these anime for fans of Jujutsu Kaisen. All available to watch right here, right now!

Both series feature a protagonist who gains the abilities of an inhuman being (cursed spirits in Jujutsu Kaisen, ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul) and uses those powers to fight against those very same creatures.

Both series revolve around the main character being turned into or possessed by an inhuman being. They use the abilities gained from that to fight against the cursed spirits (Jujutsu Kaisen) and other ghouls (Tokyo Ghoul).

Despite being a once in generation sportsman, high schooler Yuuji seems more interested in hanging out with the quaint Occult Research Club, if only because it affords him time after school to look after his ailing grandad. That is, until, on the very same night that his grandad passes, he runs into the enigmatic Fushiguro and on his dark coattails, the violent world of the supernatural beckons. By the episode’s end, Yuuji is faced with a choice that will colour the rest of his life: to run and hide, or to face the horrors of the world head-on?

Let’s see what the second episode brings us!

This leads to several smaller stories as we’re introduced to the wider world of Jujutsu Kaisen, including Yuuji’s classmates: the previously mentioned Megumi (quiet and antisocial, but clearly a nice guy) and Nobara Kugisaki (quick to anger female type), plus more Jujutsu Sorcerers, like Kento Nanami (great character, very sarcastic and straight-laced, but with a sweary temper sometimes. Really enjoyed his scenes) and Yuuji’s upperclassmen Maki Zenin (no Cursed energy, so uses Cursed items), Toge Inumaki (can only speak specific cooking ingredients due to a vocal Curse power he has) and Panda (a walking, talking panda…) I’ll give author Gege Akutami credit on the last two, they’re unique to me! As for the villains, we have distant and secret head villain Suguru Geto, Mahito, child-like Curse who can change his body shape, and a Curse with a volcano for a head named Jogo, amongst other small fry. It’s quite the odd cast, in a good way.

Also as much as Jujutsu Kaisen has been bucking some Shonen trends, coming up next is a tournament arc, so… Yeah. I guess that’s more an issue with the next 13 episodes, mind you…

Jujutsu Kaisen has been a fun series to follow so far. While it’s hardly free from the tropes of the genre, it does do enough things a bit differently for me to happily invest, plus I do enjoy the character designs for the show (or the manga, I guess!) and some the fight animation has been fun too. An easy-to-recommend show, if you’re looking for some Shonen action, even if you may have become over-exposed to the sub-genre like myself…

Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 17 is coming out next week and we can’t wait to see Itadori Yuji and his teammates go up against the Kyoto sorcerers.
