Love quest for a servant girl ch.54

Continuing the adventures of a young girl named Aerra, now a young maiden, in her quest to discover the truth about the centennial ritual of summoning a priest…
The original novel that Nina came into already had a weird premise to begin with; the ml locks up the saintess in order to use her power to soothe his pain, Nina the maid helps her to escape which caused her death, then the saintess and the king develop feelings for each other? what?
If you’re wondering why I dropped at chap 7 here’s why (it’s kind of a spoiler, yah it is), Nina upon receiving healing from the saintess falls asleep and soon the time for the king to use the saintess powers to sleep came and decided to let Nina stay in bed along with the two of them. Their position, king on the left, nina in the middle, the saintess on the right whilst him and the saintess hands are tied together to make sure they keep touching for the purpose of healing. The king gets upset about nina thinking about the saintess in his presence that he held her chin forcing her to face him (he also placed his hands around her neck as if he was thinking of choking her). And to top it as they sleep he places his arm over her, like below her neck around shoulder height.
Oh man! So, they are going to have a romance?? I was kinda hoping for them to have father-daughter dynamic with the Saintess as her mother, then she’ll have what she wanted all along, a family. I thought the grand duke was a better match for her. They were both the same age and their interactions were so cute😆
I’ll wait for the second season tho,cuz I really do like it and it is very well written. Except for the creepy king. I really really wish they’d go with the father daughter dynamic😶
I think I’m quite biased here, but she is truly the kind of person I aspire to be. Someone who was trying her best to survive while also still appreciating the moments she was given. Occasionally portraying herself as dense, but deep down we know why she had to act that way. She embraced the feelings that were given to her without dancing around it, very honest and inspiring. Sometimes you just got to let the waves crash on you and stand tall. Maybe I was so biased because I’ve read so many stories that overcomplicate things with lies and deceit. I felt like falling in love with the female lead, even though not romantically. I’m not going to spoil anything, but I really cried when she gave her parting gift. As a FL, she’s not only receiving but also giving (which is very very very very rare). Hope I can read more of this beautiful masterpiece <3
I really appreciate Nina here as a character, as well as the Saintess. I also love the Grand Duke’s persona. I have been hoping for this to be a sort of daughter x father relationship between the orphan Nina and the King, with the Saintess as their mom. The hope started when both of them noticed the similarity of some of their features with Nina.
Going further though, it does not seem to be the case. I feel uncomfortable with the undertones of these men’s conversation with Nina — a minor. The knight obviously crushing over this kid, and the King becoming excessively touchy. I hold firmly on the thin thread that they keep reiterating Nina is a minor, implying they do not see her that way. I hope it isn’t just to give contrast and glorify their supposed "holding back". If it is, it’s disgusting.
I hope to be proven wrong of this perception in season 2 and we see the possibility of Nina being adopted. There’s a lot to unpack in the story. There is the foreign head maid who works more of an aid rather than a maid, Beato who is most definitely a big wig behind the scenes and how he could be more involved with regards to the original Nina plotline, and then there is Alex who has the biggest and most appropriate potential to be the ML.
Nina is such a funny character but idk why she looks 10 even tho she’s 14. Haha but I love her interaction with the characters.
I just happen to rly like the character development for Alex btw.
