Hmm, after reading all of your Mexico Snaps comic strips, I got a different impression of what country Mexico resembles. I feel that Mexico resembles Germany, with the rich culture resembling Austria a bit. Mexico is able to somehow maintain some order and get some progress out of a meeting like Germany. Best case would be in the “Hetalia COP16 Cancun agreement” strip. A comment here and there about how Mexicans are considered grim by the other Latins. Plus both countries, in their modern incarnations, started off as empires under a monarchy, but after losing a war, forced to make heavy concessions, became federalist republics afterwards. (Not necessarily in the same order). Both make good beer, yes, great fighters. On the other hand, the rich culture would resemble Austria. The Golden Eagle is the national animal for Germany, Austria, and Mexico.
