Horimiya ep 9 neko san

This is Moya and my review of Horimiya and things started of great. You may need to enjoy pretty anime characters to enjoy this one. But who doesn't?

In the official account for the animated adaptation of the manga written by HERO and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara, Horimiya, the project’s second promotional image was published. The image features the protagonist Izumi Miyamura’s makeover, following the events featured in the series’s sixth episode.

The series has been on the air in Japan since January 9 and is confirmed with a total of thirteen episodes, while the distribution rights have remained in the hands of the Funimation platform.

HERO subsequently began republishing the manga through a paper serialization under the title Horimiya, with illustrator Daisuke Hagiwara through Square Enix publisher’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine in October 2011. The publisher published the fourteenth compiled volume in December 2019 and the fifteenth on September 18.

I enjoyed episode 1 of the Horimiya anime, and can’t wait to see how their relationship develops in the 13 episodes!

Episode 9 of Horimiya was a showcase of how weird Miya’s life has gotten. First of all, Hori is sort of a freak. And I really love that the show is allowing her to have some not-so-lovable traits. She’s always been jealous but it’s not portrayed as a cute sign of love. She seems unreasonable and pretty weak when she throws her fits. And I like that she’s not perfect in a very obvious way instead of a cute or inferred way.

Another thing I wasn’t expecting out of a pg romance anime is a frank look at just how important and difficult friendships can be. This is the first episode of Horimiya where the colourful shadows visual cue served a direct narrative purpose. And it was a bit obvious but I really liked it.

A lot of things came to a head in this week’s episode of Horimiya. It continues to illustrate what I appreciate about the show.

As a person whose read the manga, re-experiencing Horimiya has been weird, for one, the feel of the anime is quite different from the manga, having much more of a comedy type atmosphere than the manga’s slice of life feeling. I think this reflected in some of the parts that you noted as the low points of the episode. Overall, it’s been pretty nice watching this anime, and I do say, the romance is coming. The fact that you guys also noted that Horimiya is also about developing friendships, not only romance, also made me quite happy.

I think what I really like about Horimiya so far is that it isn’t over-the-top and overly cheesy. It’s very down-to-earth and honest, and it gives plenty of time on other relationships besides the main pairing. This episode might be my favorite one so far because of Miyamura’s relatable backstory and the focus on his and Toru’s friendship.

On the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of the manga written by HERO and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara, Horimiya, the preview of the thirteenth episode of the project was published. The episode will be broadcast on April 3 in Japan and is titled “I’d Give You Heaven”.
