This show was so close to being perfect for me it’s agnozing how frustrating it is. I have a really hard time supporting shows with high sexualization of women or that contain crimes against women (i.e. Future Diary). First off, the positive notes: Love the design of the FRANXX, absolutely beautiful mechs. Looking forward to someone buying the rights for these and producing model kits. Absolutely connected to the primary protagonist relationship. It’s been predictable but a very enjoyable ride (no pun intended). I may be a sap for old-school basic happiness romances, but I can see the start of one flowering here. Love a crazy chick as one of the primary protagonists. Love the fact that she’s a human hybrid, love her strange idiosyncracies, loved the whole "darling" angle. REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO FLESHING OUT HER BACKSTORY. If we don’t get something on that during this first season, I will be severely disappointed in the story writing. The "love confession" of episode 5 between Hiro and Zero Two, while full of used cliches, was absolutely adorable. Again, I feel like their pairing is so entertaining to watch. Now the negative: Human integration into the FRANXX, my gosh people are you freaking kidding me? You couldn’t have gone for a Melfina (Outlaw Star) approach to full human integration into the suit? You just had to make the girls prostrate into a very compromising and humiliating position with completely OBVIOUS sexual innuendo to how the male and female are positioned in the cockpit? Totally unnecessary and severely diappointing. If you had re-thought the design for the cockpit alone you would have made my top ten anime list. Thank you for once again ruining what could have been a 10/10 for me. That leads into the sexual innuendos – this is almost borderline rape to be honest. They don’t even hide it. If you can’t stomach sexual innuendos of this magnitude and you find the demeaning of women revolting, stay away from this one. I understand the need for conflict in a main characters relationship, but given the highly sexual nature of the pairing of "woman basically being the console of the machine", again highly demeaning and very disappointing, and the hightened sexual state of the "stamen" or male pilot did you really have to send that turd of a pilot (whatever-is-name, the angsty cocky one) for a "turn" with Zero Two? That was very difficult to watch because again due to the highly sexual nature of piloting a FRANXX it felt like he was sexually taking advantage of Zero Two and her remarks after he almost died felt like he didn’t measure of sexually which I also felt demeaned her character to be honest. I like how cold she is sometimes but overall this whole mini-arc simply shows the disfigured and perverted minds of the storytellers. Based on some of Zero Two’s commentary of the world at large, I feel a dark side to her origin story – especially given her once happy nature (see episode 1 initial introduction). I’m assuming at this point sexual abuse by one of her stamens which developed into the tradition of her "consuming" her stamens as a natural form of self defense. If you guys go this direction, again, it will be too much to stomach for me and you will end up in the same category for me as Future Diary.
~Why is Darling in the FranXX more than waifu wars and ecchiness?~Yes, this anime is leaving so many different opinions in the anime community. It launched so many new memes and divided the world into two best-girl-teams and left us with questions how do those robots even work. But regardless nobody really talks about its meaning beyond waifu wars and ecchi scenes. Because those scenes are really flashy it is difficult to see deeper meaning of this original anime. Its story is set up in the future, where people left the surface because of klaxosaurs – some kind of monsters which kill people. We meet main characters who are living in a big building which not only has houses but also environment similar to one humanity left behind. Therefore main heroes don’t know the beauty of the nature we are very familiar with. What is more it seems like they don’t know much about human relationships. They don’t know kissing, love, romantic relationships and many more. It seems they were born for one purpose only – for killing klaxosaurs and defending adults which once lived on the surface. After seeing 7th episode of this anime it was clear to me – this anime has promissing post-apocalyptic story which is bringing me so many questions: Is it like that in the whole world or only in Japan? Who are the children fighting against klaxosaurs? Are they part of experiment (If that is true the ending will maybe be closer to Kiznaiver – original anime from same anime studio)? What is the whole point behind not telling them what we are being taught as children (for example: about kissing)? Why is half kloxosaur fighting against klaxosaurs? And who is Hiro (the lead character)? Why is he so different than other adolescents? And if we are already talking about Hiro his story is in my opinion very psychological. He is different than others and he seems to know more than his friends. Because he talks about stars and rain and even names his team mates (they are given code names by adults) I imagine him living on the surface before, but I could be wrong. In adition he is an unique boy who is very friendly to others but when he grows up he for some reason can’t pilot his robot. This leaves him with emotional problems, stress and inability to control Franxx – robot. Since they don’t know counsuling this only leads to him training as hard as he can but doesn’t leave good results with his piloting. Somehow he losts purpose in life – because the only purpose of this adolescents is piloting Franxx and fighting those monsters. He could be seen as an example of anyone of us who suddenly lost purpose in life or is in very difficult emotional and stressful stage of their lives (for example: ending school and starting a job). And so he clings on the only person he can give him purpose he is searching for – Zero Two. She has kloxosaur’s blood and acts very differently than other girls. I persume she is far older than those adolescents, because she has a lower code name and has seen the humanity before it got almost extinct. She is the one who is leaving Hiro with many philosophical questions about life and humanity and gives him purpose again. But for what prize? So if I summarise my thoughts, Darling in the FranXX sure is centered on relationships and romance but it is more than that. It shows us what could our world be in the future. Apocalypse might not happen because of sudden appearance of monsters but because we are destroying our environment. We also could leave the surface of the Earth and run away in order to survive. And whoever comes after our time could forget what we knew, saw and did and like main characters in this anime be suprised by stars, sea, old buildings and an old book about having a baby (which was in my opinion the best symbolic object shown in the 7th episode). So overall its has a very good post-apocalyptic story but it’s sadly hiddend behind the relationships which some find exaggerated or meaningless.
Darling in the Franxx Season 2 is one of the most expected sequences in the evolution of animal life in Darling in the Franxx Season 2. In the whole anima culture the elegance of anime is highly admired. In the last 2 years, Darling has had fan speculations in the Darling in the Franxx S2. But the fans have lately been puzzled by a few reports about the season.
Everyone likes Zero-Two, whether or not they want the anime. Few enjoy naming Darling an Evangelion rip-off in the Darling in the Franxx. Both of them had unfortunate ends but Darling in the Franxx eventually was even stronger than significant. Hiro’s conception of character and his position in the animus demonstrate just how loving it is and how valued it is.
I assume, at least, that the unconditional affection that both of them had has not been seen to date. The anime was never frozen if we spoke of romance and drama. While they made a detour in the center each episode was beautiful. However, the end product and the way stuff worked out were just fine. The last scene in which two children interact appears precisely like Hiro and Zero-Two for those of you who know. And why are we going to speak about Darling in the announced release of Darling in the Franxx Season 2? Updates and options!
Let’s smash the likelihood that Darling will be confirmed in the Darling in the Franxx season 2. There are several animes which after years of silence have been revived. The assault on Titan, One Punch Guy, Gintama, the Seven Deadly Sins and several others have been renowned after many years.
Yet there was something in common with these animes, and that was an unfinished storyline. Honeymoon in Stage 2 will occur only if an interesting route to get after you left in Stage 1. Most of you believe the Darling finished quite well in the Darling in the Franxx. But otherwise there are followers.
Since Darling has finished in the Darling in the Franxx, the development will never revive the fantastic anime. We ought to wonder why there will not be a new season, as much as it hurts to say this.
If in the Darling in the Franxx Season 2, we sever the probability of Darling proof. However, after years of silence several animes are revived. These animes are Titan, GINTAMA, The Seven Cardinal Sins, etc. Such animes.
