Tian Guan Ci Fu is the very first chinese novel I read. At first, I was so confused with the terms such as “Taizi Dianxia”, “Xianxia”, “Cultivation” etc. It’s a whole new world for me. I always just read manga that is originally from japan so I’m more familiar with senpai and other terms. It took me a few chapters to get used to it. BUT! As the story goes, the plot gets heavy. There’s a whole 2 books (books 2 and 4, damn you) that traumatised the sh*t out of me. It consists of the Main Character’s past and it hurt me so much. I cried so much and ended up stress eating xD. This novel… is amazing. It may be marked as fantasy but it shows human emotions so much. Like how will people react to this and that, how their brain process etc. It’s amazing and I salute the author that they can convey human emotions like this. Also, the romance in this novel is so cute. I can’t believe San Lang stalked Xie Lian for over 800 years XD such dedication! They are so so so cute and they deserver the world!
